2025 Safety Professional of the Year (SPY)

Congratulations to the Mid-Michigan ASSP Safety Professional of the Year Craig Galecka!  This award is well deserved and acknowledges Craig’s outstanding contributions to the safety profession within the Mid-Michigan chapter.  

Craig Galecka is a highly respected safety professional with 29 years of experience in safety and environmental compliance. At LJB Inc., Craig leverages his expertise as a Professional Engineer and Certified Safety Professional to reduce workplace risks, particularly in fall protection, through audits, system design, and training. His deep knowledge of OSHA and ANSI standards ensures organizations meet best practices while prioritizing worker safety. Beyond his project work, Craig has shaped industry standards through leadership roles in ASSP and ANSI, and is recognized for his extensive training, public speaking, and published contributions. Craig’s expertise, leadership, and dedication to safety distinguish him as a worthy recipient of the Safety Professional of the Year award.

ASSP Michigan Chapters & MIOSHA Alliance

On Tuesday, August 23, 2022 the three Michigan ASSP Chapters, West Michigan, Mid-Michigan, and the Greater Detroit Chapter renewed their joint Alliance with Michigan OSHA (MIOSHA).  This fourth renewal of the ASSP/MIOSHA Alliance marked 13 years of working together to achieve the goals set forth in the Alliance.  We were honored to have Bart Pickelman, Director of MIOSHA Consultation, Education and Training Division, join us for the signing.
