2025 Michigan Safety Conference All-Chapter Networking Event

The Michigan All-Chapter meeting with the Greater Detroit Chapter and the West Michigan Chapter took place on April 15, 2025 during the Michigan Safety Conference in Lansing.

Later that evening, there was a combined chapter networking event at the Lansing Brewing Company.

Mid-Michigan WISE Social Mixer and Fundraising Event – October 2024

On October 24, 2024 the Women in Safety Excellence (WISE) Mid-Michigan Chapter hosted a social mixer and food drive. We dropped off 379 pounds of food at the Greater Lansing Food Bank that will help them provide 365 nutritious meals to Michigan families in need.

On September 19, 2024, our chapter hosted a Safety Leadership Series at the Michigan Library and Historical Center. Bob Mann gave a presentation on “What Causes Complacency or Indifference Regarding our Personal Safety?”

2024 Michigan Safety Conference All-Chapter Meeting and Networking Event

The Michigan All-Chapter meeting with the Greater Detroit Chapter and the West Michigan Chapter took place on April 16, 2024 during the Michigan Safety Conference.

A panel discussion on implementing a positive safety culture in the workplace was conducted by West Michigan ASSP President Chris Scholten, along with Chris Brennen, Premier Property Services; Deputy Jose Douglas, Kent County Sheriff’s Office; Ashley Faber, Executive Director, Property Management Association of West Michigan and Braeden Wilson, CEO, Premiere Property Services.

Later that evening, there was a combined chapter networking event at Founders Brewing Company.

Safety Leadership Series – February 2024

On February 15, 2024, our chapter hosted a Safety Leadership Series at the Lansing Chamber of Commerce. The topic was “How to Build Safety into Daily Management through Continuous Improvement Initiatives” presented by Brittany Parks.

Safety Leadership Series – January 2024

On January 24, 2024, our chapter hosted a Safety Leadership Series at the State of Michigan Library and Historical Center. The topic was “How Individual Decisions Affect Safety Culture” presented by Bob Mann.

Michigan Safety Conference

On April 18, 2018, our Chapter held a joint meeting with the Greater Detroit Chapter, West Michigan Chapter, Michigan Industrial Hygiene Society, and the West Michigan Industrial Hygiene Society during the Michigan Safety Conference. Guest speakers including ASSE President Jim Smith, Region 7 Deputy Regional Vice President Chet Brandon, and AIHA Executive Director Larry Sloan.

Chapter Members Kelly Juday and Melody DeBolt represented The Great Lakes Safety Training Center during the signing of an Alliance Agreement with MIOSHA Director Bart Pickleman.

Lock Out Tag Out and Arc Flash 70E

On March 7, 2018, our chapter hosted a Lock Out Tag Out and Arc Flash 70E meeting at the The State of Michigan Library and Historical Center.
