Topic Professional Safety Certifications

Did you know there are more than 60 Certifications and Accreditations that can apply, and might be beneficial, for Safety Pros to consider?  Carl Granger, Mid-Michigan ASSP President, will be wading through this “sea” of letters behind names by presenting, “Professional Certifications”.  This hour-long class will be in-depth look at what certifications best apply to Safety Professionals, as well as the overall process for applying for, achieving and maintaining a professional safety certification.  Special attention will be paid to the CSP (Certified Safety Professional) Certification.

At the end of this presentation, the participant will be able to:

  • Describe the overall process to achieve a “safety” certification/accreditation.
  • Understand the different types of certifications currently available and which accrediting bodies are working to ensure the integrity of the certifications.
  • Understand which certifications are applicable to an individual’s professional and educational background, as well as what might be necessary to get to the point where s/he can sit for the exam.
  • Enjoy a great free lunch and network and socialize with other safety professionals in our area.
