This paid internship offers a hands-on introduction to industrial safety consulting. The successful intern will work alongside our Principal Safety Consultant on real client engagements, conducting site assessments, supporting compliance audits and program gap analyses, and developing safety training materials. Interns who demonstrate strong performance and professionalism will be considered for conversion to a full-time Safety Consultant role upon successful completion of the internship program.

Key Responsibilities
Field & Site Work
- Assist with workplace safety audits across manufacturing and industrial facilities
- Complete audiograms
- Conduct machine guarding assessments
- Assist with lockout procedure updates
- Conduct walkthroughs to assess compliance with OSHA
- Document findings, photograph hazards, and compile field notes for client reports (and gap analyses)
- Industrial hygiene tasks related to noise monitoring, audiograms, sample collection for dust and/or weld fume
- Utilize AI tools for assessments; confirm findings and solutions
Compliance & Documentation
- Research federal and state OSHA regulations relevant to client industries
- Assist in developing and updating safety programs, SOPs, and written compliance plans
- Maintain organized records of audit findings, inspection reports, and client correspondence
- Analyze client documentation for compliance to complete program gap analyses
Training & Client Support
- Help design and deliver safety training sessions for client employees
- Prepare presentation materials, toolbox talk outlines, and visual aids
- Support client communications under the direction of the Principal Consultant
Qualifications
Required
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field
- Genuine interest in manufacturing and industrial safety environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Comfortable with artificial intelligence; willingness to learn and use cutting edge tools
- Ability to work on-site at manufacturing and industrial facilities, including wearing required PPE
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client site visits
- Steel toe boots
Preferred
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 General Industry certification
- Prior exposure to manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments
- Coursework or knowledge in hazard communication, lockout/tagout, machine guarding
- Experience writing technical documents, reports, or safety procedures
Internship-to-Consultant Conversion Pathway
Paradigm Safety views this internship as a mutual audition. Our goal is to identify a talented individual who can grow into a trusted consultant representing our firm. Upon successful completion of defined milestones and a final performance review, qualifying interns may be offered a full-time Safety Consultant position.

Full-Time Conversion Criteria
- Completion of all assigned internship tasks and independent project deliverable
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and client-ready communication
- Satisfactory performance review conducted by the Principal Consultant
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
- Alignment with Paradigm Safety’s values and approach to client service
