The ASSP Mid-Michigan Chapter presents the Safety Leadership Series: “Best Tick & Lyme Disease Prevention Protocols”.

The CDC estimates that there are over 300,000 people diagnosed each year with Lyme Disease in the USA. That is 1.5 times the number of women diagnosed with breast cancer and six times the number of people diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. Next to the mosquito, ticks are the second leading parasite to spread illnesses. Brian shares stories about his lifelong fascination with ticks, his wife’s fear of them, and his search to learn more about prevention when a friend almost dies from lyme disease. He teaches interesting facts about them such as their natural enemies, life cycles, and smells they do and don’t like. He touches on other topics of interest to his audience know as “the outdoor worker” from industries like loggers, tree management, and electric power companies. They work daily right in the middle of tick habitat and he shares his research and best practices to help keep them safer, healthier, and more productive workers.

Brian Anderson (aka “The Tick Terminator”) has a unique approach as he consults, speaks, and recommends the most cost-effective tick prevention products on the market today. With his knowledge, his humor, and his giftedness in articulating this subject, he has earned the title of a “Tick and Lyme Disease Prevention Specialist.”
